My son and I just had a Hangout On Air so we could record our explorations of area and perimeter in MinecraftEdu. Squares, rectangles, and irregular shapes. And you can see (if you have over an hour) how his understanding of the concepts and the computation procedures solidifies over the course of his building and reviewing.
