Okay, Facebook friends. Here's your chance to weigh in. Every once in a while, I get this happening. (See video.) It doesn't hurt, per se, but it's disturbing. Anyone else have this happen to them? Might be tied to repetitive stress injury / carpal tunnel syndrome.

5 Questions to Ask Yourself About Your Unmotivated Students

It's taken me more than two decades, but I think I am making progress here. One thing that I think has shifted inside my own head and heart is that I truly love my kids, and I feel privileged to get to work with them. I don't see it as a chore or a job, but a calling. But, as I said, it has taken me a REALLY long time to get to this point. (Notice I said "making progress." I don't think I'll ever really get it right ALL the time.)

The White House

Is it possible for me to love this lady right here any more than I do right now? Gosh, you know she's so pleased and proud of our President and First Lady and GOD BLESS HER 106-year old self!

Japanese Poetry 2.0 – Tomodachi Mura

I had the great fortune of visiting with Melvina Kurashige recently and looking at this collaboration between her students and John Miller. It's truly fantastic. Even more so is the process, which John describes in this blog post. This project "ignites my heart" the way the rising sun did for one of the student-created characters in the game, according to a poem from one of John's learners.

The Tide Is Turning: High School Is Coming Back

Thank God. No, seriously. THANK GOD. I hope these changes are in place soon enough for my 6th grader to feel the benefit. We're already avoiding APs and standardized tests as much as we are able.

Customer Letter - Apple

This is definitely going to become a discussion forum topic for my high school students in Digital World! Thank you, Apple. I think you are absolutely right not to venture down this path. I believe in supporting law enforcement, but this isn't the way to do it without opening a Pandora's Box of new legal issues.

New Google Forms now the default option, with improvements to add-ons, script editing, and more

Good news, now that Add-one will work. Oh...this means I need to change my Slides for this coming Saturday (when I was gonna say "don't use new Forms).
