Looking Into the Future for a Child With Autism

When you get a setback in your child's path, as a parent of someone with autism, it can provoke anxiety over what his future holds. This gives me hope again.

To the parents of the kids who don’t struggle in school …

Except for the different diagnoses, I could have been the Mom who wrote this. We don't get perfect report cards or honor rolls or first place trophies. We get the kid who can school any adult on today's political situation and who can name all 100 US Senators by state. It would help if we knew no one valued the former over the latter and my kid could always feel like society values what he brings.

[Video] New 'Procter & Gamble' Ad Infuriates Racist America, Bigots Forced To Take A Look In The Mirror

To all the white people who have a problem with this ad (and anyone, really): you should be more offended at the idea that an entire racial group of Americans even has to HAVE these talks with their children than you are at feeling convicted or guilty by a two-minute video. It's not racist. Our society is. Against people of color, not you. Our educational, justice, real estate, and employment systems are racist. White people benefit from that racism. That's how racism works. You're not the victims. WE white people are not the victims. Get over yourself and start working to change society.

Facebook’s Complicity in the Silencing of Black Women

Hey Facebook: How about standing up for the rights of people, rather than ignoring hate speech and silencing the already oppressed?
