Why My Autistic Child's Haircut Broke My Heart

Today's haircut, for us, wasn't this bad. But he silently cried through the entire ordeal, and his stylist was calm, reassuring, and wonderful the whole way through. We also only used scissors because the buzzer freaks him out. A nearby woman who watched seemed very sympathetic and said nothing about his reaction. So our experience was very different. But it didn't break my heart any less.
