I believe that, in a way, parents and their children are our clients in education. That doesn't mean the customer is always right. It means that if we want our clients to be as informed as possible about what we do and what we need, then we need to help educate them. I've seen comments about this saying parents should just know how to do their job and do it. But that kind of attitude helps no one, least of all the children caught in the middle. Parents, for the most part, want to support teachers. Sometimes, though, they don't know how, and they have not been shown good role models by their own parents.
