These 19 states are cracking down on fake service dogs

There is something people with fake service animals seem to not consider: while some people with autism rely on emotional support dogs (NOT the same as service dogs), others with autism (like my son) have an overwhelming fear of dogs. So while some people let their dogs run off-leash right past the signs at the beach prohibiting this behavior, my son has to cower behind me for safety. Legitimate service dogs are properly trained and zero threat to other people or animals. They’re not carried in purses or pushed in little strollers. They are always on leash and do not bark. Any other dog posing as a service animal is potential danger to real service dogs and to my son and people like him.
