Also, for those who are NOT mentally ill but who have committed crimes, if we can move toward more of a restorative justice system and help people overcome some of what led to their life of crime, we could decrease recidivism. Jail/prison can be a place where people are locked up to lose their freedom for a time, and not just become better at being criminals.

This parent is talking about a different SAT, one that British children take in what we would call 6th grade. But it basically details why I'm not going to allow my son to take the SAT or ACT tests as part of the college admissions process. They cause a stress that's not worth it and reduce a human being to a number. We're opting out.
